Today’s show is about the A,B,C’s of financial literacy.

What is a stock, bond, TFSA, RRSP, a registered account, mutual fund fees, difference between a robo-advisor, financial planner, Investment advisor, dealing with a regulated company vs non-regulated and risk.

The world of investing can be exciting for some of us, while others might find it overwhelming and challenging, especially when it comes to choosing the right investment or Advisor. The reality is, there are a lot of options available for where to invest your money.

It’s important to understand the various investment types, their differences and similarities, and of course become familiar with any associated fees.

When it comes to choosing an investment, whether it’s a stock, mutual fund, ETF or a bond, make sure you understand the product and what you are investing in. Don’t make an investment decision because you read about it on line, or heard about it through a friend. Do your homework.

Be sure to ask questions and get financial advice from an expert before investing. And always make sure you know your risk tolerance.

It does not matter how big or small your investment is, the bottom line is that it is your hard earned money that you have invested for your future.

Joining Elizabeth Naumovski today, to talk about financial literacy and the financial industry is Jackie Sanz, Chief Compliance Office at Caldwell Investment Management Ltd.
